To classify the polynomials as polynomials in one-variable, two-veriable etc.
(i) x2 - xy + 7y2         
This is a polynomial in two variables
 
(ii) x2 - 2tx + 7t2 - x + t         
This is a polynomial in two variables
 
(iii) t3 - 3t2 + 4t - 5        
This is a polynomial in one variable
 
(iv) xy + yz + zx         
This is a polynomial in three variables
 
 
 
Identity polynomials in the following.
(i) f(x) = 4x3 - x2 - 3x + 7     
This is a polynomial as the powers of x are non-negative and integer
 
(ii) g(x) = 2x3 - 3x2 + sqrt{x} - 1     
This is not a polynomial as the power of x ais not an integer in the third term
 
(iii) p(x) = 2/3 x3 - 7/4 x2 + 9             
This is a polynomial as the powers of x are non-negative and integer
 
(iv) q(x) = 2x2 - 3x + 4/x + 2             
This is not a polynomial as the power of x is negative in the third term
 
(v) h(x) = x4 - x3/2 + x - 1                 
This is not a polynomial as the power of x is not an integer in the second term
 
(vi) f(x) = 2 + 3/x + 4x                     
This is not a polynomial as the power of x is negative in the second term
