can we set up democracy without power sharing?

Power sharing is the very spirit of democracy.
The basic principle of democracy is that people are the source of all political power and they rule themselves through the government. In a democracy everyone has a voice in public policies and this ensures right balance between different sections of the people.
Also, though it may seem that dividing of powers means dividing the nation or for that matter weakening the country, however in the long run it assists in building the unity of the nation.
