ashwin goes 40 km towards west from point A to point B from point B he moves 30 km towards east along the same road if the distance towards west is represented by a negative integer then how will you represent the distance travel towards east ? by which integer will you represent his final position from A?

Let C be the point at the final position.
As Ashwin travel 30 km towards east, distance reduced will be 40 - 30 = 10 km
This situation can be represented as follows:
 
B represents the integer -40
C becomes -10
