Q: A room 4.5 m long, 4m wide and 3m high. Find the cost of white washing of the walls and the roof at the rate of rs 111 per square meter.
Solution:
Area to be whitewashed = 2(lh + bh) = 2(4.5 x 3 + 4 x 3) = 2(13.5 + 12) = 2(25.5) = 51 sq m
Cost of white washing = 51 x 111 = Rs. 5661
