Endothermic reaction:Chemicla reactions in which heat is taken up from the environment for the reaction to occur is called endothermic reaction.
ex.(1) thermal decomposition of limestone.
CaCO3 (s) --------->    CaO (s)   +   CO2 (g)
 
Rancidity: rancidity is the reaction in which fats and oils present in food are decomposed into fatty acids, due to taste of food becomes bad.
 
Corrosion: it is a process of slowly eating up of metal surface due to its conversion into oxides, carbonates etc. by action of atmospheric gases ang moisture.
ex. rust- Fe2O3.5H2O
     Black layer of silver sulphide (Ag2S)
