An object placed at 20 cm from concave mirror forms a real inverted image at a distance 40 cm from the concave mirror . Find the focal length of the concave mirror

object is placed at distance of 20 cm in front of concave mirror.
u = - 20 cm ( object is placed to the left of the mirror)
v = - 40 cm
focal length of concave mirror, f= ?
By mirror formula,
![1 over f equals 1 over v plus 1 over u](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/0b181b61daf6c264241bcbf1f1ac5132.png)
![1 over f equals fraction numerator 1 over denominator negative 40 end fraction plus fraction numerator 1 over denominator negative 20 end fraction
f space equals space minus space 13.33 space c m](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/20e8e21c50940f3647fbecd23d8783b4.png)
focal length of concave mirror is negative and its value is 13.33 cm in this case.
