An object is vertically thrown upwards.Then the displacement time graph for the motion is as shown in figure. According to me B should be the answer but the answer given is(a) please enlighten me with the correct explanation

If u is initial velocity , then vertical distance h travelled in time t ,    h = ut - (1/2) g t2 .............(1)
 
From eqn.(1), we have, vertical distance h is a quadratic function of t .
Maximum vertical displacement is obtained from relation, v2 = u2 - 2gh , by considering final velocity v = 0
 
hence hmax = u2/2g
 
time taken tmax to reach maximum height is arrived from, v = u- g t   or  tmax = u/g   if v = 0
time taken tg to reach ground is twice of above time , tg = 2u/g
 
As per explanation given above,  graph(b) is the correct one to represent displacement-time graph.
 
But in time axis,  time to reach maximum height should be marked as u/g .
Similarly, time to reach ground should be marked as 2u/g
