An iron pipe 20 cm long has exterior diameter 25 cm. If the thickness of the pipe is 1 cm, find the whole surface area of the pipe.

Total surface area of pipe

= 2Rh + 2rh + 2(R2 - r2)

= 2h(R + r) + 2[(R + r) (R - r)]

= 2(R + r) (h + R - r)
