Energy of flowing liquid per unit volume is given as
First term is pressure , second term is kinetic energy and third term is potential energy.
If pressure and potential energy remains constant , then Energy is proportional to speed u of flow of water.
If speed is doubled , then energy will become four times.
Hence required power of motor becomes four times of initial power.
Hence power of new water pump = 4 HP
