a stone is released from the top of a tower of height 78.4m . find the time taken by the stone to reach the ground (g= 9.8 meter per acceleration square

Time taken t by the stone to reach ground is calculated from the equation of motion
where h is height of tower , u is initial velocity of stione that is zero because stone is released from rest
and g is acceleration due to gravity .
If height of tower is 78.4 m , then
78.4 = (1/2) × 9.8 × t2
t2 = 78.4/4.9 = 16
t = 4 s
