A relation is said to be transitive if aRb,bRc,then aRc.I've read that if a is related to b and b is not related c then also the relation is transitive. Is this true?

Expert Answer:

No.

A relation R over a set X is transitive if whenever an element a is related to an element b, and b is in turn related to an element c, then a is also related to c.
