A rectangular plot is 110m long and 70m board it has a gravel path 3 m wide all around ir . find the area of the path and the cost of levelling it at the rate of ₹3.50 per sq.m

Expert Answer
Length of the plot = 110 m
Breadth of the plot = 70 m
Width of the path = 3 m
Area of the plot excluding boundary = 110 x 70 = 7700 m2
Area of the plot including boundary = 113 x 73 = 8249 m2
Area of the path = Area of plot including boundary - Area of plot excluding boundary =  8249 - 7700 = 549 m2
Cost of levelling the path = 549 x 3.5 = Rs. 1921.5
