A rectangle's length is 5 cm less than twice its width .If the length is decreased by 5 cm and width is is decreased by 2cm;the perimeter of the resulting rectangle will be 74cm.Find the length and the width of the original rectangle.

Expert Answer
Let the width be=x
Then length=2x-5
A.T.Q
New length=2x
New breadth=x-2
2(2x+x-2)=74
3x-2=37
3x=39
x=13
Therefore, Width=x=13cm
Length=2x-5=21cm
