Let cost price be Rs. x.
Selling price in the first case = x + 5% of x = begin mathsize 16px style straight x plus 5 over 100 straight x equals fraction numerator 105 straight x over denominator 100 end fraction end style
Selling price in the second case = x - 2% of x = begin mathsize 16px style straight x minus 2 over 100 straight x equals 98 over 100 straight x end style
Accroding to the question,
begin mathsize 16px style 105 over 100 straight x minus 98 over 100 straight x equals 63
fraction numerator 7 straight x over denominator 100 end fraction equals 63
straight x equals 6300 over 7
straight x equals Rs. space 900 end style
