Use the Formula: Amount = P + ![begin mathsize 16px style PNR over 100 end style](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/4b0ea7e6e0fbd82e4ee5e70572b78be0.png)

Substitute the values, we get
283.75 = P
...(i)
![begin mathsize 16px style open parentheses 1 space plus space fraction numerator 3 straight R over denominator 100 end fraction close parentheses end style](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/561289ee0f02268a8fcf38f236d7e4ec.png)
306.25 = P
...(ii)
![begin mathsize 16px style open parentheses 1 space plus space fraction numerator 5 straight R over denominator 100 end fraction close parentheses end style](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/b8099617fe347067d7e013b546312c05.png)
From(i) , substitute the value of P in (ii), we get
306.25(100 + 3R) = 283.75(100 + 5R)
Solve the equations and get the value of R.
