Expert Answer:
A bus travelling at 42 km/h covers a distance in 5 h.
Distance = Speed x Time = 42 x 5 = 210 km
Speed increased its speed by 8 km/h.
hence, New Speed = 42 + 8 = 50 km/h
Time = Distance ÷ speed = 210 ÷ 50 = 4.2 hr
Time saved = 5 - 4.2 = 0.8 hours = 48 mins
A bus travelling at 42 km/h covers a distance in 5 h.
Distance = Speed x Time = 42 x 5 = 210 km
Speed increased its speed by 8 km/h.
hence, New Speed = 42 + 8 = 50 km/h
Time = Distance ÷ speed = 210 ÷ 50 = 4.2 hr
Time saved = 5 - 4.2 = 0.8 hours = 48 mins
