A bus leaves a bus station at 9a.m.and it travels at an average speed of 60km per hour . Another high speed bus leaves the same bus station an hour later and it travels at an average speed of 90 km per hour. If both the buses travel in the same route,at what time will they meet?

Let bus-A travel at a speed of 60 km/hr and bus-B travel at a speed of 90 km/hr.

Let both the buses meet after t hours from the starting time of bus-B.

Distance travelled by bus-B = 90×t  ................(1)

Since bus-A has already started 1 hour before bus-B, distance travelled by bus-A = 60×(t+1)  .......................(2)

Since both are meeting , distance given in eqn.(1) and eqn.(2) are same.

hence 90×t = 60×(t+1)  .................(3)

By solving eqn.(3), we get t = 2 hour.

Hence the high speed bus-B will meet the earlier bus-A after 2 hour.
