To deal with such questions, we first take the LCM of the denominator and simplify it.
![fraction numerator left parenthesis negative 8 right parenthesis over denominator 19 end fraction plus fraction numerator left parenthesis negative 2 right parenthesis over denominator 57 end fraction](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/5b149cf6eb639019fb7dc3012493855a.png)
Here the LCM of 19 and 57 is 57.
So the fraction becomes
![fraction numerator left parenthesis negative 8 right parenthesis over denominator 19 end fraction plus fraction numerator left parenthesis negative 2 right parenthesis over denominator 57 end fraction
fraction numerator negative 24 minus 2 over denominator 57 end fraction
fraction numerator negative 26 over denominator 57 end fraction](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/06dc2274da1ea5e170c8d24bfefafd02.png)
