Velocity is displacement made in unit time .

Displacement is measured from a reference frame that is at rest .

For relative velocity , displacement is measured from a reference frame that also moving.

For example , an observer standing on earth surface seeing a moving train that has speed V .

Velocity of train is V for the observer because he is at rest.

If observer is moving by a vechile in same direction with speed v , then relative velcoty of train
with respect to observer is (V-v)
