Expert Answer
The Non-Brahman Movement was started in many parts of South India. It was started by the educated and wealthy non-Brahman classes. These classes started the movement against the oppressive and dominance of Brahmins in society. People belonging to lower castes contended that Brahmins were actually the heirs of Aryan invaders from the north who came to parts of South India and defeated the original inhabitants of the land—the Dravidians.
