Why a radioactive substance be not touched with hands.

A radioactive substance emits a lot of harmful radiations that penetrate our body and cause serious damage to the cells of our body.
If we touch such a substance with hands then that will cause serious burns and the entire cellular structure of our body may get damaged if the radiation level is very high. Hence, lead gloves are advised to be worn while handling radioactive substances.
