Transistors switches are used to switch the control lamps, relays, LEDs and even motors and generators. A transistor switch is electrically/automatically controlled so it works quickly as compared to manual switch. Also the manual switch has two states On or off i.e either souce volatge or zero voltage whereas this is not the case with the transistore switch, varying the base current of a transistor will cause the transistor to act as a variable resistore.The sixe and compatibility also matters in case of transistors you can use it in microcontrollers,LEDs etc.
