CBSE Class 12-science Answered

When input current Ib of transistor increase output current also increases... ‘but according to equation  IE=IB+IC it should decrease???

answered-by-expert Expert Answer
input current ib and out put current ic are independent due to their separate biasing.
They are not divided from a given current. Output current ic is a function of input current ib .
If input current ib is absent , there will not be any output current.

By seeing the equation, we should not get the notion emitter current ie is divided into base and colloector current.

Base current is due to the input forward  bias and is very small in magnitude.
Base current generates collector current in reverse biased Base-collector juncton due to transistor action.

Emitter current is combination of base current and collector current.

By transistor design, collector current is β times base current, β≈100, where β is amplification factor
