What steps were involved in the weaving of cloth?

Steps involved in the production of cloth:

  1. Spinning was the first stage in the production of cloth. This work was mostly done by women with the help of the charka and takli.
  2. After spinning, the threads were woven into cloth by weavers. This work was mostly done by men.
  3. For obtaining colourful cloth, dying was done by a dyer known as rangez.
  4. Help of specialist block printers were taken for printing cloth.
