Expert Answer
The nervous system is made of neurons. These neurons transmit messages in the form of electrical impulses from one part of the body to another. The messages are transmitted along the nerve fibre by the formation of synapses. Synapses act as one-way valves and ensure that the messages are transmitted only in one direction.
