What is the reason to give power to Napoleon Bonaparte?

Napoleon Bonaparte was known as the 'Child of the French Revolution'. He secured the French throne because of the turmoil and anarchy caused due to the French Revolution. After the abolition of monarchy in 1795, a new governing body called the Directory was established in France. Upon Napoleon's return to France, the Directory was bankrupt and unpopular with the public. Napoleon then staged a coup within a coup; he drafted the decree in such a way that by December of 1799, he received the majority of the power.
