(i) Roughage is the fibrous matter in food which cannot be digested.
(ii) Function of roughage:
It provides bulk to the food, keeps the food and waste matter moving along the intestines and helps to prevent constipation.
(iii) Sources of roughage:
Vegetables, wheat, cereals, fruits and many kinds of beans are some sources of roughage.
