What is dawn and dusk? How are they caused?

  1. The time between sunrise and full daylight is called dawn while the time between sunset and complete darkness is called dusk.
  2. Dawn and dusk occur during sunrise and sunset respectively. During dusk and dawn the Sun is below the horizon and the light received from it is diffused. Much of this light is reflected by the clouds and the dust particles which are present in the atmosphere. So there is diffused sunlight causing dusk before the morning and dawn before the sunset.
