What happens when a vote of no-confidence is passed against the Chief Minister? Who executes the real executive power in the state?

When a vote of no-confidence is passed against the Chief Minister, his entire ministry has to resign. This is because they are collectively responsible to the State Legislative Assembly.
The Chief Minister executes the real executive power in the state. He is the real head of the state.
