As shown in plan figure, if one of the angle of a right triangle is 30°, then ratio of the sides are given by, BC : AB : AC = 1 :√3 : 2.
If side opposite to 30° is one unit, then hypotenuse is two unit and adjacent side is √3 unit.
If we take a scale factor 5 cm then sides AB, BC and AC are 8.7 cm, 5 cm and 10 cm respectively.
Hence if we draw a triangle ABC as per the plan figure, we get the CAB as 30°.
Construction :-
Draw a line segment AB of length 8.7 cm using ruler. Using compass draw an arc of radius 5 cm using B as centre.
Draw another arc of radius 10 cm using A as centre. Draw these two arcs so that they intersect at C. Join AC .
Now the CAB is 30°
