Expert Answer
The adjournment motion is passed by the Parliament when a definite matter of urgent importance needs to be taken up. This is done in cases such as - railway accidents resulting in the death of several people, a natural calamity which has been devastating (flood, tornado or a communal tension). This motion interrupts the normal business of the House.
