Two similar charges repel each other with a force of 44.1 Newton when placed 2cm apart in air.calculate the strength of charge.

Coulomb force F between two similar charges of q Coulomb which are at distance r m apart in air  is given by,
F = begin mathsize 14px style fraction numerator q squared over denominator 4 πε subscript straight o space straight r squared end fraction space end style N
 
Hence F = 9×109 × q2 / (2×10-2)2  = 44.1 N   or q = 14×10-7 C = 1.4 μC
