Expert Answer
Let Marked price be Rs. x
S.P. = Rs. 3250
M.P. is 40% more than S.P.
M.P.=S.P.+40% of S.P. = 3250+1300 = 4550
First discount = 16.66%
Net Price after first discount = 4550 - 16.66% of 4550 = 4550 - 758.03 = Rs. 3791.97
Second discount = 3791.97 - 3250 = Rs. 541.97
Rate of discount = 541.97/3791.97 x 100 = 14.29%
