The vertical component of the Earth's magnetic field is times the horizontal component at a place. Whit is the angle of dip at that place? If the magnitude of the horizontal component is , then find the resultant field.

Therefor, the angle of dip at the place is 600.
Also, B cos 600 = H 0.16 x 10-4 T (Given)
= 3.2 x10-4 T
Therefore, the resultant field at the place is 3.2 x 10-4 T.
