Expert Answer
Since, 1 m = 100 cm
Therefore,
36 m = 3600 cm
20.8 m = 2080 cm
Area of a hall = area of a rectangle = 3600 × 2080 = 748800 cm2
Prime factorisation of 3600 and 2080.
3600 = 2 × 2 × 2× 2× 3× 3× 5× 5
2080 = 2 × 2 × 2× 2× 2× 5 × 13
HCF(3600, 2080) = 2 × 2 × 2× 2 × 5 = 80
80 cm is the greatest length of the side of square tiles that can be laid on the floor such that no tile has to be cut.
