The binding energy per nucleon is given by
fraction numerator B i n d i n g space E n e r g y over denominator T o t a l space n u m b e r space o f space n u c l e o n end fraction
Except lighter  nucle and few heavier nuclei binding energy for most of the elements lies in the range of 8MeV.
