The three characteristics of the Earth’s core are:
- It is the densest part of the Earth and is divided into the inner and the outer core.
- The core of the Earth has a diameter of approximately 7000 km.
- It is made up of nickel (Ni) and iron (Fe) and thus it is also known as NIFE. Due to high temperatures in the core, these metals are found to occur in the molten state.
