The Rajya Sabha or the Council of Ministers is also known as the Upper House of the Parliament.

Composition: 

1. The maximum strength of the Rajya Sabha is 250 members.
2. The members fall under two categories - nominated and elected. The President elects the 12 nominated members having special knowledge or practical experience in matters of science, literature or social sciences. The remaining 238 are elected members who represent the States and Union Territories.
