Expert Answer
If Rs.100 shares purchased for Rs.9600 at Rs.20 premium, then number of shares = 9600/120 = 80
If 80 shares are sold at the rate Rs.160 per share, sale proceeds = 80×160 = Rs.12,800
From the above sale proceeds, if Rs. 50 share is bought at the cost Rs.40,
then the number of new shares purchased = 12800/40 = 320 shares
Divident from old shares = 80×8 = Rs. 640
Divident from new shares = 320×5 = Rs. 1600
Change in two dividents = Rs.1600 - Rs. 640 = Rs. 960
