Since we need to find norton current with respect to terminals a and b,
let us connect a load resistance RL between a and b as shown in fig.1
First step to get Nortans current is shorting the load resistance as shown in fig.2, and
try to find the current passing through shorted load which is ISC as shown in fig.2.
It can be seen in fig.2, when Load resistance is shorted by single conductor,
all the current due to voltage source 30 V will flow as short-circuit current ISC.
No current will flow through 60Ω , hence Vx = 0.
Since current source depends on Vx no current from current source.
Hence 60Ω rresistor and current source can be removed as shown in fig.3 to get ISC .
Hence current ISC = 30/12 = 2.5A or Norton current = 2.5A
