Yes there is , resistance is property offered by conductor to resist the flow of current. So simply resistance is offered of a single resistance.

But sometime when two or more than two resisyis connected in a circuit then we don't take value of single resistance we have to account for every resistor connected in the circuit either in series way or in parallel way. So when take account of all the resistance in circuit then this resistance is known as effective resistance or equivalent resistance of the circuit.
