Figure shows a ΔABC with side AC > side AB. D is a mid point of BC and AD is joined.
 
if we consider two triangles ABD and ACD,
side AD is common
BD = DC.
AC>AB
 
Hence two sides of both the triangles are equal, only the third side of each traiangle differ.
 
since side AC > side BD, angle opposite to greater side is greater compare to the angle opposite to smaller side.
 
Hence begin mathsize 12px style angle A D C space greater than space angle A D B end style
begin mathsize 12px style angle end styleADC + begin mathsize 12px style angle end styleADB = 180°
since begin mathsize 12px style angle A D C space greater than space angle A D B end stylebegin mathsize 12px style angle end styleADB < 90° , hence begin mathsize 12px style angle end styleADB is acute
