How is turning and loosening of soil important for cultivation of crops ?

The processing of loosening and turning the soil is called 'tilling' or 'ploughing' of the soil. The preparation of soil is the first step before growing a crop. Turning the soil and loosening it is the most important task in agriculture. It is very important to loosen the soil because it allows the roots of the plants to penetrate deep into the soil and also allows them to breathe easily.
