How is the Vice-President elected?
The Vice-President is elected by an Electoral College consisting of members of both Houses of Parliament. It is in accordance with the system of proportional representation i.e. by single transferable vote. The voting at such an election happens by secret ballot.
Each nomination paper should be proposed by at least twenty electors and another twenty electors should second the same. Earlier, the requirements used to be five proposers and five seconders.
