How are the days and nights caused?

Expert Answer
Day and night are caused due to the rotation of the Earth. Since the Earth is spherical in shape, the part of the Earth facing the Sun experiences daylight. The other half of the Earth, which is away from the Sun, experiences complete darkness and hence night.
