  1. The Tundra region is classified as a cold desert as it receives scanty rainfall of below 25 cm annually and is a barren land which remains frozen for most part of the year.
  2. Mosses and lichens generally grow in the Tundra region as these scrubs can withstand the harsh winters and can survive on very little moisture.
