find the equations of the line through the intersection of 2x+5y-4=0 with x axis and parallel to the line 3x-7y+8=0

If the required line is parallel to 3x - 7y + 8 =0, then equation of required line is 3x - 7y = k ................(1)
where k is constant.
Required line is passing through the intersection of 2x+5y-4 = 0 and x-axis. hence y-coordinate of intersection point is zero
hence x coordinate of intersection point is obtained from 2x - 4 = 0. or x = 2
Hence line whose equation is given in (1), is passing through (2, 0).
if we substitute x=2 and y=0, then we get k value given in eqn.(1) is , k =6
Hence equation of required line is 3x - 7y = 6
