  1. Money Bills can be introduced only in the Lok Sabha (the directly elected 'people's house' of the Indian Parliament).
  2. Money bills passed by the Lok Sabha are sent to the Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha do not have the power to amend money bills but can recommend amendments.
  3. A money bill should be returned to the Lok Sabha by the Rajya Sabha within 14 days, or else the bill is deemed to have passed both houses in the form it was originally passed by the Lok Sabha.
  4. When a Money Bill is returned to the Lok Sabha with the recommended amendments of the Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha may or may not recommendations.
  5. It is then presented to the President, who gives his assent and it becomes a law.
