They were known as Gentlemen. 



They were known as Players.



They were usually batsman. 



Players were given the work of fast bowling and hence they would be bowlers.



They were considered socially superior. 



They were considered inferior.



Captain of the team initially was always selected from them. 



No bowler initially was appointed as the captain of the team.
