Expert Answer
Surface Charge density :- charge density per unit area of the surface.
Let us assume an area A is charged uniformly and the total charge on this area is Q, then surface charge density σ = Q/A coulomb / Sq.m
linear charge density :- charge density per unit length of thin rod or thin wire.
Let us assume a thin rod or wire of length L is charged uniformly and the total charge is Q, then linear charge density λ = Q/L coulomb/metre
volume charge density :- charge density per unit volume of a solid material.
Let us assume a solid material of volume V is charged uniformly and the total charge is Q, then volume charge density ρ = Q/V coulomb/ cubic-metre
